Adding New GroupsTo create a new group in your project, first select a group in the project pane. This will be the parent of your new group.
Group NameThe only thing that you must do is provide a name for the group. If you do this as above and click ok, an empty group called "My Group" is created and added to the project. Chords/Scales/Groups to addTo save effort, you can add many chords, groups or scales to this group by entering the amounts in the fields below. For example, to quickly add 3 chords and 2 scales, you can type 3 for "Chords to add" and 2 for "Scales to add". These items will appear when you create the group. StyleThis is an advanced option which allows you to assign a particular style to this group. This means that when the items in this group are rendered, this style will be applied. Furthermore, if a website is created, the colors will be drawn from this style. Click "Add" to assign a style. If you do this and later wish to remove it, click "Remove". Underneath this option, a text message is shown so you know which style is assigned to this group. By default there is no profile assigned, and the message will say "style is inherited from the group ...". This tells you that some parent group provides the default style. In a new project, this is the top-most project group. Naming Properties and TuningWhen you assign a tuning to a group, all of the items in that group will use that tuning. The exception is when an item in that group has its own tuning assigned to it. Setting the tuning for a group is basically a way of saying, this the default tuning for everything inside. For example, to set one tuning for the whole project, go to the top-most group and assign it there. In the example above, you would select the Simple Project.chr group and open the properties editor through the Edit menu. The tuning that is set here will apply to everything inside the project. If you add a new group somewhere called "DADGAD Scales", you can set the tuning for that group to be DADGAD. Everything inside that group will use the tuning DADGAD. To set a group's tuning and other naming properties, click the "Add" button and the Tuning Editor will appear. If you want to remove the tuning settings for this group, click the "Remove" button, and the group will use tuning settings from its parent instead. You can see which tuning is applied to this group at any time by clicking "View". This will bring up the tuning editor, but will be disabled unless a special tuning is set for this group. Click here for help on using the Tuning Editor.
