Printing Your Project

To print your project, select the "Print" option in the "File" menu. The print wizard will appear and step you through the process:

Render Print Files

The first step is to render out the project images and to build a print-friendly layout of the project. You need to provide a folder for FrettyCharts to do this. Be careful to rub over the top of an existing project render.

Style Selection

Because we are probably printing onto white paper, FrettyCharts will automatically choose a preset style that is "print-friendly" black and white.

You can change this, but be aware that a colored background may use a lot of ink or toner.

Page Layout

The page layout settings give you control over the way the printed content is organized on the page. NOTE: however you decide the change these settings, FrettyCharts will make sure the content fits on each page by scaling it down if necessary when printing.

This means you don't need to worry about your image sizing and page sizes.

H-Alignment and V-Alignment

These table cell settings allow you to specify the positioning of chords and scales in their grid cells when laid out on the page. H-alignment refers to the left-right horizontal positioning, where V-alignment refers to the top-bottom vertical position.

Number of Columns

Note that chords are rendered into a different grid than scales. This means you can specify a different column size for each. Typically chord images are smaller than scales, so in the example above we have chords arranged in a grid with 3 columns. On the other hand, scales are just stacked one on top of the other with just 1 column.

Start Printing

After the rendering is done you will be prompted by the printer to start the printing task. You can make whatever page settings you need, for example: landscape or portrait, Letter or A4 etc... FrettyCharts will adjust itself accordingly.
