Managing Projects

A FrettyCharts project is made up of chords, scales and groups. Groups are just folders which let you organize chords and scales, just like you organize files on your computer.

There are three main reason to use groups in FrettyCharts:

1) You can change the guitar tuning for a group, and all of the items inside will be assigned that tuning.

2) When rendering your images to JPEGs for example, the groups will become folders on your hard disk, making it easy to keep things organized.

3) When rendering your project to a web format, FrettyCharts will create a new web page for each group. So it helps to think about how you want the website to look.

For example, the figure on the left shows a simple FrettyCharts project, with major and minor chords. On the right is a more complex example, where the project is divided into two main groups: "Standard Tuning" and "DADGAD Tuning".
