Chord Naming Rules

Using the Scale Editor

The scale editor allows you to place all of the fingerings for your scale on the neck. The toolbar is used to select which symbol you want to place on a fret.

Adding Notes

Unlike a chord, you can place many notes on each string in a scale. To change the symbol you will place on the guitar neck, click the toolbar item. Then just click on each fret to place the symbol. The numbered circles let you indicate things like each note's position in the scale as in the example above.

Removing Notes

To remove notes from the scale, click the "Erase" item in the toolbar. The cursor will show an eraser which you use to clear any notes on the guitar neck.

To clear everything at once, click the "Clear All" button.

Undo/Redo

If you make a mistake, or clear something that you wanted, use the "undo" and "redo" actions in the "Edit" menu to restore your changes. The standard hotkeys, "Control-Z" for undo, and "Control-Y" for redo will also work.
