Styles - Spacing

The spacing tab of the style editor allows you to specify the amount of space used in various parts of the chord and scale images. Note that you can use the scale feature of the General Settings tab to apply a multiplier to all of these values at once. The values with NOT change in this editor. For example, if the scale was set to 200%, these spacing values would be multiplied by 2 when it comes time to render the image, but wil not be changed in this editor.

Gap Between Strings

The number of pixels between the centre of the strings in an image.

Gap Between Frets

The number of pixels that each fret occupies.

Horizontal Image Padding

This is the number of pixels in the horizontal margins (left and right) of the image. No image content will be rendered in those margins.

Vertical Image Padding

This is the number of pixels in the vertical margins (top and bottom) of the image. No image content will be rendered in those margins.

Chord to Title Padding

This value says how many pixels fill the gap between the chord title and the start of the guitar neck.

When our image orientation is set to horizontal this setting ONLY applies if there are no fret markers enabled in this style. In other words, the Fret Markers tab must not have the "Fret number indication strategy" set to "None".

Chord to Fret Marker Padding

This value says how many pixels fill the gap between the chord title and the fret marker text (eg. 5th fret). This setting only applies if the fret markers are enabled.

Chord to String Marker Padding

This value says how many pixels fill the gap between the chord and the string markers. The setting applies in both horizontal and vertical image orientations, if string markers are enabled.

Title to String Marker Padding

This option only applies for vertical chord orientations, when the chord title is displayed below the chord image. In this case, it specifies the space between the string markers and the chord title.

Mute/Open Strings to Nut Padding

This is the number of pixels between the O/X markers for open and muted strings, and the nut of the guitar image. Even when there are no open or muted strings, the spacing will be applied.

Title to Fret Marker Padding

Any time the chord title and the enabled fret markers are adjacent, this is the number of pixel spaces between the two.

NOTE: This value will over-ride the chord to title padding, in cases where the fret markers lie between the chord and title.
